Re: Accidently wired 12v into kill switch, now no spark
I have the same 1994 Sportjet 90. You may have only damaged the rev limiter, which will cause no spark to occur. You can test this by unplugging the black with yellow stripe wire from the rev limiter. It will spark with this unplugged as long as your switch box is not damaged. If there is still no spark, it is probably your switch box. <br /><br />However, you can try unplugging the black with yellow stripe wire from the switch box also. If you have spark now, then your ignition switch has a short in it. NOTE: if you unplug this wire from the switch box and the boat starts, you will not be able to turn it off until you plug the wire back into the switch box.<br /><br />If you don't already have a manual, you can get the "real" mercury one from stemtostern for only $35. It is really helpful.<br /><br />Let us know what you find.
