Add water temp sensor to Force 125?

The plug at the top of the head on my Force 125 is 1/8 in NPT. Anyone ever used something like this (maybe with a short nipple) to add a temp sensor?

Not to deflect on the topic, instead of a temp sensor I installed a pressure gage (0-30 psi) which instantly tells me if the water pump is pumping water. Additionally, with trend you can also detect if you are starting to lose pump pressure which is an indication it's time to replace the impeller. Although, in my case I always replace the impeller every two seasons.

Well, the temp sensor goes on the head while the water pressure gage goes on the top of the t-stat.

Hmmm... I'd like to know more about that. And what is that hole a plug in the top of the head for anyway?

Some people made connections for a pee hole. Others like me put in a pressure switch. So it's up to you what you want to use it for.

The thing about adding a gauge for the temp??
Not many watch the dash as they go boating( I'd get seasick if I paid too much attention to the dash)
Test your system and then change the buzzer to a motorcycle//car horn.
The buzzer is almost impossible to hear while underway, the motor noise, the radio blasting etc.
If you change to a horn, make sure it's wired right.

Well, I over-engineer just about everything, so right now my best guess is I’ll do both! What do you use for a pressure sensor?

You need to buy a kit.
Google "water pressure gauge sender outboard motor"
A couple kits show up.
