Re: Adding power tilt and trim fluid

I see a cap on the side of the reservoir but how do I add the fluid. The cap is on the side, so I cant just pour it in. My manual does not give any information on this.
Thanks. Nate

unless its leaking no fluid is ever needed.
its a sealed system.
if its leaking get it repaired cause if oil can leak out water leaks in and it does sit underwater.
to add fluid fully tilt the unit up, remove the resevoir cap and add fluid to the bottom of the threads on the resevoir.
I use a small squirt can myself.

The fluid level looks full, but it makes a sort of grinding sound when lifting the motor and the shafts on the cylinders look dry. I dont see any leaks anywhere and it still operates fine. Its just noisy when lifting. Sounds great lowering.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks. Nate

the normal cause of the grinding sound when on the trim pins is lack of lubrication on the trim pin wear pads.
use a good water proof grease, tilt the motor up and grease the wear pad and the tips of the trim pins.
