Adding towing eyes to an inflatable

Anyone ever added towing eyes to an inflatable with a wooden transom? Will a "U" bolt on either side with nice big washers on the inside be OK? I want to pull a donut with a skinny teenager on it.

If you are in salt water, you will want to use stainless steel.

yes you can add a U bolt, but if I was you I would rather use the bolts that looks like this: O--, the old O bolt, thay are just as strong and you only need one hole in the transom on each rather that 2 holes per bolt as for the U bolt, and remember to use lots of sealant on the bolts and the hole etc. .... hope that makes sense ....
