I am rebuilding the carbs on my 1986 Johnson 90 h.p.. I bought the carb kits then found out i need a 324891 guage to set the float. Does anyone know how to set the float without the guage?

(Carburetor Float Setting)
(J. Reeves)

With the carburetor body held upside down, the float being viewed from the side, adjust the float so that the free end of the float (the end opposite the hinge pin) is ever so slightly higher (just ever so slightly off level) than the other end. And when viewed from the end, make sure it is not cocked.

Before you button up the carbs, turn the carb upside down and blow into the fuel inlet. If you can blow through the fitting, something is wrong. If you can't and the float is adjusted like Joe said, button it up and go boating.
