Re: Advice needed!

wow- nice boat! i don't believe this crap- marina's down here want $2000 for an outboard and thats a 25HP at the most for that price- any boat with a motor would be around $5000 from them, i know their prices are ridiculous but i figured it'd be the same all over the country. Looks like i'll have to take a road trip this spring, where in Quebec. Can you tell me the name of a good marina or used boat dealer, and if I have to drive an extra few hours to ON, that's not a problem either. The boat im looking at is nothing compared to what you have there so looks like i won't be getting that. Thanks for all your thoughts and opinions guys, gonna keep my money in pocket for now and wait for a better opportunity. and on a side note- how the F did u know it was $2000? lol, kinda freaked me out. if it was just a guess, nice one!
Canada wonder what his import fees where. This thread was kind of walking around too good to be true
I would be asking what's the catch?

too good to be true...man your not joking around. been looking all over the country since that was posted and i'm not finding anything in near mint cond for anywhere near that price. Some absolutely ridiculous stuff like a 98 16" starcraft with a 75merc for 10k. i did see an 18ft Rinker 182 for around 3k...looks in pretty good shape but hasn't been run in 5 years and has no spark....could be an easy fix i guess but it could cost a ton to get running right too. and something i didnt consider, guess maybe i should have- but nothing comes with a trailer- so thats another $1500 approx to be added to anything i see. I just assumed Howard was from Canada, but if he's not- i'm sure those fees would have been close to what he payed for the boat, lol. 1/3 at the least. If anyone knows somewhere i should be looking, please let me know, thanks

Re: Advice needed!

looking for boats in On and QC in March is not going to be fruitful...
wait until gas hits $1.50/liter this summer... there will be some fire sales.
reputable marina near me had this 93 or 94 Starcraft with a 115 on it for $3500 in the fall. very nice boat. pretty sure it went on the rack for the winter. Could probably get it with the trailer for $3K cash - probably consignment too so only the one tax.

If that boat were a bowrider, it would be $6K. Everybody wants bowriders here. same reason I got mine so reasonably. I have no use for the front seating - prefer the storage.

Re: Advice needed!

thanks for the input- so if I wanted to find out more about that starcraft- where would i go? can you post or PM the name of your reputable marina. I'll definitely have to see how gas prices affect sales- never considered that. front seating is not anything i need either. I'd appreciate any guidance you can offer
