I'm currently in the process of selling my boat. its just a small 17 footer with a 25 hp engine. Its in really nice shape and i know of nothing wrong with it at all.

I remember reading a thread on here a while back about a guy who sold his boat to some young kid and the kid took it out and trashed it and then sued the seller saying it was broken before he bought it.

After reading that thread, i don't want that happening to me. So my question is how do i prevent it the best i can? I've been looking around for a good bill of sale template on the web and can't seem to find any to my liking.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Ray

That "sold a boat and it busted" thread has somewhere in it a link to bills of sale for several states if I remember right.

Welcome to iboats.

Also take pictures of the boat and parts. Remember anyone can sue anyone, but the one with the most documentation wins (or the best lawyer).
