willybwright suggested how to run the wires I did that now it will start but not run what now you can see my other post titled the same as this one to see the color codes i used. help.
I'm under the impression that your motor is now turning over but not firing? What was the reason for replacing the switch? You said it quit on you, but in what way? Your problem may not be the switch. Are the sparkplugs sparking?
no the motor will start by that i mean it cranksup but as soon as i turn loose the key and it goes back to the run posit. from the start pos. it quits running. it starts fine.
Somehow the ignition amplifier may only be getting power from the start position and losing it in the run position. That would mean that the Start wire is supplying the power to the amp, not the Accessory wire. That'd be a harness problem? Or wiring at the motor.

Or more likely the kill circuit is killing the motor once the Start current is removed. I like that Mercury Switch idea in the other thread. Disconnect it and see if that cures the problem. It's black (maybe dark brown), sort-of cylindrical with a single screw terminal on the top and it's mounted on an angle, about 1-1/4" long. Don't touch that lead when the motor is running.
