Re: Age is forcing decisions on me...

Like a friend said "getting old ain't for sissys". I retired last year at 58 because I felt I could no longer do the physical part of my job. Shoulder and foot surgeries. I want to add a room on my travel trailer in the woods on Truman Lake. Physically I'm not sure I can do it, but I am. I have used the excuse that it's too hot, here in Missouri. I think I'll start this week. At least buy some lumber. I try to pace myself with no deadlines. I feel I have lost my strength by not doing stuff like this, really. Been thinking about going to the ymca and working out, but just thinking. Guess I should stop now otherwise I'm going to have a pitty party. I've had to let go of some stuff and projects because I realized time is getting short. Good luck with the building, I think you should and will do it. And my friend didn't say sissys.

Starting about the age of 60 the first tool I placed on a job site was my folding plastic chair. I work a bit, sit a bit and work some more. Most of my days are 6-7 hours long now. Eventually every projects ends if you keep plugging away at it.
