The hot spot was obviously on the drivers side, the damage you see on most of the engine is from the chemicals from the fire extinguisher. They are very caustic to aluminum and should be washed off very soon if you ever have to use one.

Wouldn't it be easier to lift the sun roof and drive a new car under it???? ;) ;) Any way good luck with the project.

You obviously havnt been following the project, The pictures are just a doaner car for parts. or maybe you have and think its not worth it and you may be right. But, when mamas happy everyone is happy. Also my wife will have one of the nicest 1987 RX/7s around when its finished, and I did it myself. :D :D

Funny, these things hit a low last year and I would have been lucky to get $1,500.00 for mine when it was in good shape, now they have gone back up. If I freshened the engine, painted it and put new wheels on it, it could be worth $3,500-$4,000.00. The turbo models go for more as do the convertables. Funny thing about the convertables, they were not available with a turbo, and they were about 400#s heavier and could have used it.

Well, glad thats over and I can get back to watching a bit of TV, this working till 9-10 at night after work and this Saturday got old about as fast as I am. I dont think I will be working on the other car for about a month.<br /><br />Engine and trans are out and the car is out in the rain waiting to be scrapped. Hope to get it towed out of here Monday.
