What would be the best way to clean the air filter on a 3.0 erc Cruiser I/O?

You do mean flame arrestor, right? Basically a metal air filter (sort of).

Use carberateur cleaner and pressurized air if you have it.

My manual says to clean the flame arrestor with water or steam, then dry completely with the air outside or compressed air.

There is nothing wrong with water and dishwashing detergent.

What would be the best way to clean the air filter on a 3.0 erc Cruiser I/O?

Take a hose and blow it out from the inside. Let it dry before using the boat.
