Alarm Beeps

Sorry, I would imagine this question was asked countless times already. I searched but did not find anything with two beeps. Thank you in advanced.

I own a 1992 Johnson Tracker. I am the only owner since new. Tonight, I had two beeps while idling out of a no wake zone. I have never had this alarm happen to me before. I shut the motor down and re-started it up as usual. I got the single beep telling me the oil pump is working. The two beeps are new to me, any ideas?

Re: Alarm Beeps

The single beep is just to tell you the horn is working. Nothing to do with the oil pump. You may have a horn going bad or the electronics in the oil tank starting to act up.

Re: Alarm Beeps

Yeah, last night I found the manual. I could not find it, so I made this post for a little help, then found it this morning. It doesn't say anything about two beeps. So, Ill put this under erratic operation, loose battery connection. For those that have a Johnson motor with electric start and VRO2 system. This is from the manual.

1. Horn sounds rapid short pulses that vary with engine speed - No oil flow from VRO2 pump.

2. Horn sounds once every 20 seconds - Low oil level in VRO tank.

3. Horn sounds continuously - Engine overheat.

4. Erratic operation - Loose battery connections.

Thanks!
