I have a 89 johnson150, with vro, that is disconnected cause i mix in my tank. the alarm went off (constant noise) so i cleaned all filters, and installed new thermostats, and water pump. now it gives me a beep every second and doesnt affect the speed or anything. And it goes off like its timed or something, after about 2 mins of idol, going slow, or top speed it goes off, if i turn the key off and start it right back up i have 2 mins. again. could i have a short some where or is something else going wrong?

You should have a three or four wire amphenol disconnected from around the T&T box that comes from the pump, and a single or two wire connector disconnected from a single tan bullet connector that connects to the oil tank.

i only have the 2 wires for the tank and one is unpluged, the other is just the ground. when i got this boat there were no wires other then these. the guy had just replaced the vro-oil pump. what is the T&T

Look for wires leaving the fuel pump. They usually tucked the VRO amphenol connector behind the black box that holds the relays for the Power Tilt & Trim. That box is located midway on the lower port side of your engine.

ok i found the 4 wires , do i disconnect all 4 of them, or just the tan colored one to stop the alarm. i still had the tank in and it is empty. so i guess that was setting it off.

ok this guy had another connector put on right above the vro. that allows me to disconnect each wire, then i have caps to put on the wires. so do i just disconnect them all or only certain ones.

You have a vacuum switch that will sound a constant alarm if there is a disruption in the fuel supply. There are two temperature switches that will also sound a constant alarm if either cylinder bank overheats.

The VRO pump and the VRO tank need to be disconnected from the same tan wiring circuit or you will continue to get intermittent beeps.
