Alarm on Tracker 18' ???

I have a 1996 Bass Tracker Pro Tournament 18'. I am trying to find a manual for it (if you know where I can get my hands on one let me know).

The question is this...as soon as I turn on the ignition an alarm from under the dash sounds. I just purchased the boat and have not had it in the water yet. The motor starts and runs fine but the alarm continues. Does anyone know what this is for??

The alarm usually signifies something wrong. Like water pressure, overheating, low oil in the injector resevour etc...... Are you sure you have water connected to the engine when starting it to run?

Sounds like someone might have put and aftermarket car alarm in the boat to me. I have installed lots of them in boats. Most people just slap them in there so the chance of finding the brain will be easy. Look for a black (usually) plastic box with many wires coming out of it. You will be able to just remove the plug out of the brain (box) and it should kill it. Or follow the wires coming from your key under the dash look for a yellow and red wire spliced into the wires. You can remove those also and it will kill it. If those do not work I can go into more detail but one of those you should be able to do.

This is not an aftermarket alarm. I follwed the wire back to the motor and it goes in to the block where water from the impeller pumps up to cool the motor. Could this be an alarm to indicate no water in the block? I am in the process of changing out the impeller anyway due to the boat and motor sitting for almost 2 years without being run. I bought the boat used and do not have any manuals. I found a manual for the motor but not the boat itself. Anyone heard of an alsrm like this?

I want to thank everyone who offers advice and assistance. This is a great forum due to people like you. I have had a few posts here since buying this used boat and it has helped tremendously.
