Recently i have been using my four stroke 225 with no problems. yesterday the alarm starting sounding so i figured it was the oil. i filled oil to correct level and headed out. after i ran about five miles the alarm started again. this time no low oil and i had a good stream flowing. today i checked out the motor everything was fine so i went and cruised around 3-4 miles NO ALARM. as soon as i get to the dock the alarm starts sounding. i shut down the engine and turned it back on NO ALARM. Please HELP.

Re: alarm sounding on 225 yahmaha

a model number will help as the alarm changed a bit over the 10 years that engine has been in production.
a quick look at the yamaha digital tach will tell if its oil or overheat.
but on some models the alarm will sound even if oil and temp are good.
