congenital: from the Spanish con meaning "with", and genital meaning "genital".

Are you trying to say he has an arteriovenous malformation of his genitals? I think you need to go back and read the link. :p

Democratic Sen. Tim Johnson of South Dakota is in critical condition after undergoing surgery to repair a brain hemorrhage.

In "critical condition after undergoing surgery" wouldn't be my definition of "successfull"

Well it is the definition by the doctors who performed the surgery. This is just typical semantics. The surgery was to surgery to evacuate the blood and stabilize the malformation.........according to the doctors that was successful.

I feel no remorse for this post. During the campaign season The DEMS and their accomplices did everything they could to kill off the competition in their quest to regain power. Oh the irony if the power swung back due to the literal death of one of their own.

reality check.
Even if Johnson passes away, the chance of Mike Rounds appointing a republican instead, is very small.
He knows that he will instantly loose all the democrats who voted for him, in any election where his job may be on the line.
It is my feeling that he will honour the voter's decision and appoint another conservative democrat.

Congenital means with genes.. . born that way.

Genitalia (genitals) are organs for providing genes to subsequent generations.

"if he has another stroke, he'll be referred to as "2-stroke Johnson"

Now THAT is funny...

I heard that Rounds wants to run for that senate seat when his gov term ends, in 2008. He'd be a fool to appoint someone other than himself in the event of a vacancy.

And the dems will keep his seat, and he won't resign, no matter what, until 2008
Unless he dies, there is no vacancy.

Can anyone say Terry Schiavo?

I suspect he will recover, thankfully, and that "critical condition" is pretty standard status just out of surgery

And politics is indeed a bloodsport
