Almost fixed it (Ignition)

Johnson J90PLSTC. Optical Ignition.

I had no spark so I replaced the optical eye. I just thought I would start there as that was a quick fix for another engine in the past. After I replaced the eye the engine started right up. After maybe a minute it sputtered a few times then just died again, no spark again. Anyone have any ideas where I should go next? I know the engine is getting a good 12v. as I had my jumper hooked up and it was turning over super fast.

I'm sorry, I looked but I didn't see anything. Maybe i'm looking for the wrong thing. I'm looking for something that could break the optical sensor after a few minutes of running that I should be replacing. Does anyone know if there is such a thing?
