After launching I noticed a film on the water around my outdrive.( a very light film ) The boat ran great last weekend, and I did not see anything left behind. That was the first time out, so I have been looking for anything and everything. I pulled the plug and there some water. in the lower end so I have it apart. aside from the oil seal between the lower 2 halves, what could be causing this.

It could also be coming from your lower trim hoses for the power trim and tilt.

the only thing you can do is a pressure and vacume test with the legs put together

if you pump it up to 15 pounds and spray some soapy water on the prop shaft seal and check the upper seals you should be able to find some bubbling at the leak

if you did not pressure test after you put it toghter it could be the quad ring between the upper and lower hafes but the pressure test is the only way to track it down

tommays

did you see any oil on the upper shft when you disasembled it. could be about any seal on it from the top cap to the propshaft seal.
if any leak oil can come out and water in. about the only one that will let oil out and normally not water in is the input yoke seal. thats cause water is not supposed to be in the drive bellows :) .
