I am about to replace the trim/ tilt hydraulic lines as two are cracked and leaving an oil slick behind the boat. Is there a spesial tool to disconnect these lines? the nuts on the end of the lines are not very accessible. Is there a special procedure used for bleeding the new lines(like brakes on a car)? Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks, Jim

I recently replaced mine. If you are talking about the lines on the outside of the boat - to the trim cylinders, then they aren't too difficult to get at once you remove the zinc. You will need to use a flare wrench to keep from rounding the corners off. They can be picked up at a reasonable cost anywhere tools are sold.

Prop up the drive so it won't drop when you remove the lines and use a pan to catch the oil you'll lose. Replace them one at a time.

Just run the drive up and down a bizillion times to get the air out, no other bleeding needed...
