i had bad luck with cheap chinese trim and limit sender kits. At best they worked for a season, the worst one died on the first trip. So im tired of wasting money on this junk and wanted to ask about which brand or brands to use. I thought Sierra makes decent marine parts, but the guy in the marine store told me that it is not good quality and i should get only Mercury original. But it is a little pricier than the other ones, his quote was $135. So my question is what brand should i buy without sacrificing the quality. Thank you

quicksilver simply means it is being packaged by Mercury Marine's aftermarket division

Cheap no good, good no cheap.

You want high quality, and the lowest price? You need to find a different planet to live. On this one you get what you pay for. You can't have high quality at Chinesium prices... You can have high quality OR cheap price, not both.

Quicksilver/Mercury is what you need to buy if you want a part that will last longer, and they cost more than Sierra/GLM etc etc etc... But the real question is, is that $50 part that you have to replace every year really cheaper than the $135 part that will last 20 year?
