When I steer left I can get the back left corner real close to the water and get whoever is there alittle wet. But when I steer right it just like turns but doesn't lean and turn as quick.is this prop rotation affecting it?

You have a small fin (part of the sacrificial anode) under the cav plate, just behind the prop. Loosen the screw securing it, turn it slightly in the direction that is hard to steer towards (in your case, left).. Tighten up the screw... It will now turn easier to the left.

Hmmm... Might work, but also might induce a right-turning tendency.
(Thumbrule: If boat pulls to the left, turn aft edge of trim tab to left; if boat tends to pull to the right, then turn aft edge of trim tab to the right). If he does not have a left or right turning tendency right now...an adjustment may cause one. Will be interesting to hear a result. Me thinks it may be a steering travel adjustment. (but what do I know??? I have power steering, so I replaced my trim tab with a flat anode. Turns on a dime each way and has no turning tendency....).

Good point. He needs to measure the angle of turn each way. Easy enough to adjust on engines with no power steering. ;)
