alternator question

Do all electric start Evinrudes have an alternator that re-charges the starting battery, or do i have to keep the batter charged myself? Thanks!

We have an electric start evinrude 70 from 82 and it charges the battery.

You can have an electric start either way.<br /><br />Put a voltmeter on the battery, not running, and check the voltage. Start the motor and check again. <br /><br />If the running motor increased the voltage, you have a working charger.
