I was wondering what are some good products for my Aluminum T-Top. I want to recoat it with some protective polish if they make it. Any suggestions would be great!

Re: Aluminum Care

Hi TF,

Are you looking to coat the frame work? Is there any canvas to be treated?

I use either 3M cleaner wax or Starbrite one step cleaner wax on my Aluminum windshield frame, stainless steel cleats and gelcoat. The fiberglass boat is 17 years old and looks great! I boat only in salt water too. Check out the websites of Boat US, West Marine and Boater's World for pricing. I do wash the boat before I apply the cleaner / wax.

I hope this helps.

TF,

Sap is a bugger. I have used a hair dryer and plastic putty knife to remove dried sap. Then the cleaner/wax but if I look really close, I can still see the outline. Perhaps someone else has a better solution.

Rick,

My son has an old fiberglass boat that has faded he has tried numerous products with poor results. Do you think Sharkhide bring back the luster? Have you tried it this way before? A new product to me, thanks for the link

Denatured alcohol dissolves pine sap. Paste wax after should bring the finish back.
