Re: aluminum intake

FYI: You're talking apples and oranges when comparing a stock GM manifold to the Edelbrock Performer RPM Airgap manifold. Different heights and different operating RPM ranges. A better comparison is a stock GM manifold to the Edelbrock Performer. The Perfomer and Perfomer RPM Airgap are (2) distinctly different manifolds with distinctly different characteristics. The one you're thinking of running may also require changes to your cam to take full effect of the new manifold. And once you start talking cam swaps, you need to see if your heads can keep up. It's a domino effect once you start changing parts in an engine.

Best plan is laying out what you expect from your engine and then get all the parts to compliment eachother. Often, tossing a single part at an engine gives sub par returns.

Bond-o
Any experience wiht teh Michigan Motorz iron manifold. I know some GM dealers were selling one at one time for restricted rules circle track classes, but it was poor quality and eventually discontinued. Im curious as to whether it might be the same one, that would be my hangup on it. Whereas with an edelbrock, you know what you are getting.

Nope,... Just seen 'em listed....

Also, take note of the FYI: above,.... ;)
