I have been progressing well in restoring my Alumacraft 15'. The outer sides above the spray rails had some pretty bad corrosion ( non of which has perforated the aluminum) which I removed with sandpaper beginning with 80 grit progressing up to 1500 grit. I have then buffed it out with brown tripoli and got quite a mirror finish. The inside is also bad above the spray rail rivet line.(The bottom of the inside was factory painted and the corrosion did not affect it) I don't want to take the inside surface down as far as I did the outside. I am considering painting the inside above the spray rail rail rivet line. Will this corrosion continue if left alone or covered with a paint or clear laquer?
