I dunno man .. If it was mixed properly and both parts are for the same system .. then it should have cured without having any more blush surfacing.

Have you tried soap and water scrubbing on a spot or two ?

YD, so in your experience epoxy systems should cure within a short period of time (when mixed properly)? I've read that some systems take longer than others and some take more than a month to fully cure at room temperature. How much of a role does temperature and humidity play in the curing process of epoxies (time wise)?

I've switched from plain warm water to "warmer" water and dish soap for the "scrub down". Right now there is very little blush rubbing off, if any. So, hopefully, when the weather stabilizes I'll be able to do a final scrub down then sand and prime.

Thats been my experience with all the systems I have used.

Sure there are different cure times between epoxy systems .. but normally not a month or more for a cure.

Temp plays a big factor in cure times. Not sure how much humidity plays into it though. I have worked in High humidity with little to no problem.

Thanks, YD. I don't want to get too technical about the "cross linking" chemical reaction that takes place during curing but, wouldn't the finished product be much stronger/stable if there is little or no humidity? Since the amines seem to react more freely with CO2 and moisture in the environment and get "pulled away" from the cross linking reaction wouldn't it leave an imbalance in the resin to hardener ratio?

finally........

The weather finally turned "stable" yesterday, temperature was in the low 80's and the RH was in the lower 70's. Scrubbed, sanded and primed. It's supposed to be another nice day today so hopefully I can do more sanding and priming (after I sneak in a morning bowhunt).

So much for yesterdays NWS forecast. I wasn't able to do any work temps were in the mid to upper 70's F and the RH was in the upper 80's with intermittent showers. May be today, guess I'll have to wait and see. Got a sow although I wasn't able to bowhunt in my primary area due to fog and drizzle had to move down the road another 20 minutes to the "dry side" of the island.

Well, got my second primer coat on yesterday under less than ideal conditions temps were in the upper 70's and the RH was in the low 80's. NWS is calling for more stable conditions for the second half of the week, hopefully I can get a top coat in by the weekend??

Update, finally got to do two top coats over the weekend and hope to do at least a couple more before I let it sit and cure for a month while I work on my trailer. I?ll do another update if there is any adhesion failure over time. Thanks for the input.
