Has anyone used or is using Amsoil 2 cycle Synthetic oil in place of TC-W3. The Johnson dealer here that I deal with is trying to talk me into trying it, says he uses it and alot of his customers are starting to use it. It's mixed 100:1 no matter what , can only be used premix (which I do).According to the jug, you mix 8oz to 6 gallons of gas, being synthetic it is supposed to lubricate better and not foul plugs.Trying to get a feel if this is worthwhile or snake -oil. I have not put it in tank yet, but am willing to try it if I can get a read on if it really works at 100:1 and won't hurt the motor.....any info will be appreciated..

Oh Boy! Here we go!

Ask the dealer to warrant it. In writing.

ask your johnson dealer what would happen if you bought a new motor, used amsoil at 100:1 and your motor failed due to lack of lubrication, if he tells you that it would still be covered under warrantee, find a new dealer! allow his "other customers" to try the experiment with mixing 100:1 no matter what!

I wouldn't run it in my outboards at 100:1 I don't care what Amsoil says because at the end of the day they are not going to replace my engines if they fail. The book calls for 50:1 and that is what you should mix it at.
