I dont think the key switch will try to crank it over bc theres no power going to thw relay holding the switch wire .

keep a big fire extinguisher close by, and run the blower. wear safety glasses. If a battery blows up you don't want acid in your eyes.

wow I just tried to picture that and kinda lost me.. so we r pretty much removing the atarter relay?

The original OMC setup used a starter without a solenoid mounted to it. When power was applied to the starter it would spin and the bendix would push the gear into the flywheel. I was removing the slave relay because it is no longer needed for main power.

No, It was to take the small 10AWG wire and touch the large wire coming directly from the battery which is now on the starter

and also where am I suppose to put the ignition cable and the alternator cable I believe it is

Don't know what your meaning by the ignition cable, if you mean the large cable coming from the slave relay? If this is the case I was removing it for now. The ALT cable can be left on the starter main post where it was.

I dont think the key switch will try to crank it over bc theres no power going to thw relay holding the switch wire .

Agree, it will not with the way I was having it wired up. I'm trying to find out if it's the battery, relay or starter

You said you replaced the starter with a new one and the cable only got hot after cranking for a while. With your battery going to this low a voltage, either you have a bad starter or your battery is bad or not fully changed.

I would suggest put everything back the way it was. Charge your battery and load test it. If the battery checks out, go have the starter tested. If starter and battery all check out see if you can find someone locally to help, because it appears we are not understanding each other.

am going to replace the battery terminals and cablesthe negitive looks corroded and the starter does crank over when hooked up to cables would it still be bad? battery is new but will stop by autozone to have it checked out just in case. when I tried yesterday it was at 13.5 when trying to crank it went down to 7.2 which is a big voltage drop
