Yeah it was cool, and he has proven that he can drive. I have to admit, when he couldn't win with Hendrick equipment, I was having my doubts. Kasey Kane shook off that buggaboo a lot quicker, but Junior has been strong all season for sure. Proves that LeTarte is the real deal too!

Like always. Starts out OK, gets it better, loses track position on a restart and then fades late. 21st and 1 lap down I think?

Yep, that's Burton. He shows he can do it, but can't seem to quite get there. Saw him run up front many times at 'Dega only to end up back in the field or behind the wall..... Now that Jr has his win, Burton has to be right up there, if not next in line to get one....

Well, you know he won, but here is how it looked on the final couple of laps, 5+ seconds ahead of 2nd place car (Smoke).

Thanks for the link. 5 seconds? Now that's dominance... Glad to see Tony up there.

Re: And Jr. Nation Goes Wild !!!!!!!

I think what has finally happened to Jr. is that he now drives the car, and Steve call the adjustments. Just from the sound of Jr's interviews, he is finally learning that he (Jr.) is not the best one to call for changes on the car during a race, and that should be left up to his crew chief, and he has to learn to trust his judgement.
When the light bulb finally clicks on, I think Jr. will learn just how much of a team sport it is now compared to 10 years ago, and not so much a "Here is what I want, make it happen my way" type driver.

I really felt sorry for Steve Letarte when they gave him Jr., but he took the bull by the horns and has really turned things around in the 88 camp this year. Even Jr has noticed.

To go alone with that, I think Jr has finally learned how to comumicate properly what the car is doing so Letarte can make the correct changes. That has been a problem in the past, Jr's communication......

Yes, a big difference this year from last on the Trackpass audio. Less excited comments and more short comments like tick loose, snug into 3, neutral. The difference in his communication with his crew chief is showing in his standings.
