Angled to flat bunk conversion

Hey guys! I was wondering if there is a bracket to adjust from an angled bunk board to flat. I bought a trailer for a V-hull bass boat that I'm going to use for a tri-hull boat. I'll get pics soon!

Here's some pictures of the old and new. Do you think this is going to work? My dad can cut and weld, but I'm trying to keep it to a minimum.

Any ideas on how to get it moved from one trailer to another without taking it to the lake? The old one is cracking and I'm a little worried about making a trip to the lake with it, and I'd like to put it on the other trailer at the house so we can set and weld parts in place.

Getting Boat Off Trailer

you don't need stands.

1/you can lower the tongue to the ground. i would get some 6x6 or old railroad crossties cut the +- 12 inches, now block up the transom. 2/

Raise the tongue of the trailer the back of trailer will drop away from trailer. this is the tricky part. between the cross braces of the trailer block the keel lower trailer, boat will be suspended on the blocks.

3/ pull forward, lift bow again, and reblock i a different place. repeat until trailer is out from under the boat.

4/ to reload, just reverse the procedure.

if you were just working on the bunks, or painting the bottom. you could just do the first 2 steps.

I would add rollers to the other cross members that the boat would set on.Then raise the outer bonks to accomadate the the tri hull,you can buy skid plates for the bunks nor get roller bunks,you really dont need the roller bunks though,because the rollers do the job,the bunks just stop the rocking,couldnt see well enough to see if the old trailer has rollers,if so ,you can salvage them.you might save a few bucks looking for rollers on ebay

So here is our progress so far. We used 3 come a longs to raise the boat up in the carport. Then we slid the new trailer under the boat and let the boat down. It wound up resting on the outside bunks, so we cut them off which dropped the boat down to the middle bunks. Now we'll be reattaching the outside bunks at a different height and angle. It really hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. I'll post more pics later.

you know, that funny, i just had to that to my glastron, when i bought the boat the guy i bought it from wanted to keep the trailer, so we hooked my truck to the transom, he hooked on to the trailer, went slow and easy set it down on some pallats, put my trailer in front of it, hooked the winch to the boat, started winching, got some friends to push on the back of the boat while i winched, 20 minutes later i was on my way home with a deep v glastron i paid 60 dollars for! long story but yeah

noticed when i got it on the trailer the bunks werent right and were welded on, i picked up the back of the boat with a motor hoist let the front rest on the rollers, cut the bunks loose, replaced the carpet and hardware and re-welded the bunks back in place

like my friend Duane would say "if they can put a man on the moon, i can put a tri-hull on a v hull trailer!"

its going to take a bit of work but in the end itll be worth it

now that i look at the pics more, id put 2 2x6's on the inside bunks for a little added support
