annoying outboard

i own a 2000 model 50hp 4 stroke evinrude lately every time i go fishing when i slow down a red light and an alarm comes on,the motor does not fail in any way, i would just like to no what the hell is going on.... if any won can help me it would be much appreciated.... in the tacho there is 4 lights its the one on the far left that keeps coming on

im pritty sure that the light on the left side of the tacho is the oil pressure/level light. just check your oil level on the dip stick make sure that the level reads close to full.

You could have too low viscosity oil, or a bad pressure switch.

If the oil level is up it might be making oil.

When was the last time you changed the oil?

What grade oil are you using?

Be sure to check for the presence of gasoline thinning out the oil, either from flooding or a bad fuel pump.
