Another engine ID question!

I`ve never seen an engine that didn`t have the HP all over it, but this 1996 3 liter Carbed Johnson Black with gold trim has nothing on it other than it`s some kind of special edition. I`m thinking it`s probably a 200 because the boat is rated for a 200. I couldn`t find the engine ID tag, where should I look for it. What HP`s were in the 3 liter configuration?

Hey LD....take a look on the transom clasp for a small rectangular tag or on the welch plug on the side of the block.

Well, it`s not on the spot you have in your picture, it must be under the cowl.

At least someone could tell me what HP`s were in the 3 liter configuration!

OK, I found from other resorces that the 3 liter was used on the 200 and 225 HP models and because the boats max HP 200 and it`s the engine that came on the boat, it`s likely a 200HP. Man, that`s a big sucker! Makes my old Merc 150 look like a trolling motor.
