Another great season

Well the old star craft hauled some fish in this summer.
24 salmon, about 75+ sea bass, and probably around 2 dozen ling cod and 1 small halibut.
The boat ran good all summer put 50+ hrs on it. That $4.80 gallon gas was painful.
I got a new top end speed of 30+ since I switched to a 3 blade 19pitch prop (4500 rpm, wot)
I had a 4 blade prop.
My SEI outdrive is still running great with now just under 300 hrs of run time.
Changed the oil today and greased the u-joint, no water in the bellows and all looked good.
Almost ready for next season.

Winter projects are minimal this year, a new coat of floor paint and thats about it.
Might build a new engine housing or wait one more year.
Hope everyones boating season went well.
Stay safe out there.

Wow, fish stories and no photos? I think that's against our bylaws here.

Thanks for the update on the SEI outdrive. Glad you finally had a mechanical-failure free season. All those upgrades paid off.

For got the salmon pictures of 10 salmon in 1 day. Limited the next day with 8 salmon and the last day with 6 more.
My crew was 5/4/3 and we can only tag 2 fish per person.
I caught and released about 10 more before the season opened so I knew where to fish once the season opened.
did not want to waste valuable harvesting time trying to find the fish.IMG_0287.jpg

Congrats on a good season! Now it's "our turn", as we're just about to begin down here. Hopefully it will be just as successful as yours.

Re: Another great season

Congrats on the fishing to you. You had a much better year than I did. Kokanee were a lot bigger this year, but just weren't biting good when I was out. I gotta figure out how to catch some ling up here, they still let you keep 3 in the Kootenai drainage. Haven't fished for them since the late 70's, and they were easy to catch then. Great tasting smoked, if I remember correctly. Had enough problems with the jet pump this summer, I'm thinking about going back to my crestliner and outboard. Bout time to start winterizing things here, Shouldn't be that hard with it in pieces again. As you say another year over, only I got lots to do this winter. The guys ignored my fish pics, put some in the fishing thread a few days back. But I know the mob comes after you without pics here. Good luck in the future.
