Hello all, Many thanks on having a great forum that's already answered many Q's i've had in my
research on buying a 20-21' bowrider.

Ive been looking at a few different boats locally and I'm a bit torn between a couple I might make offers on.
One is a 13 year old boat with only 110 hours on it and another is 5 years newer with 390 hours on it, both show very well and clean. The $, specs. and almost everything else is very close and almost a wash between them.

The newer higher hour boat does show more signs of use - minor dock rubs,some minor interior wear, nothing that gives me much concern.
The older 14 year old boat shows like new, the gel coat's like a mirror - kind of amazed me really, with the only flaws I could find was a faint 2" spider web on the rear deck and an inch or so of piping on the rear bench that pulled up.

Both of these boats seem to be very well cared for.I am leaning toward the older boat as it did kind of knock me out when I looked at it.

But with it's age and such little use is there anything / negatives I should be concentrating on ?
{All I can think of is to closely inspect the belts and seals on the engine.}

Welcome aboard!!

It appears you are pretty thorough, but just in case you might have missed something let us know what the engine/drive packages are. OB, I/O, Inboard? Model, HP etc.

Thanks for the kind welcome !
Both have 5.7 Merc's. The older one is a 350 mag, I think it's 280-300 hp. Not sure what Merc. drives they have. What's the diff. between the bravo 1, 2 & 3 ?

Have a mechanic look at the older boat if everything comes back clean use the newer boat to beat the price down on the older boat. welcome aboard and what ever you decide enjoy your new boat.:D

Well . . . Is the older one a 1996? It is possible that is an early 300 hp MPI, if so, that is a great engine. If either is EFI (TBI or MPI) that would be a big part of my decision. If both are carbed, kinda equal, if both EFI, kinda equal. My .02 on that.

My guess is both are Alpha drives. Bravo 1 is performance, Bravo 3 is twin counter rotating propellers, Bravo 2 is for larger cruiser types, but almost all of those are Bravo 3s now so 2s are pretty rare. Never a 2 in a runabout.

Wow, both boats I was looking at sold. Seems the 20 - 21 ' boats with a V8 sell quickly around here.

Back to the hunt.
