I always thought I was doing it right but the more I read the less I know.... ironic lol.

First a simple question, when cruising or wot do I want my bow up or down? which equals plane?

So here is what I do. I start trimmed down all the way, as I take off the bow lifts. As I increase speed it levels out.

At about 3/4nspeed I trim up until the rpm rise about as high as they go, then I trim down a hair from that. From here I can go into wot back to 3/4 all day.

If I want to go slower or even stop I trim all the way down first, then throttle back.

That's my system..... critiques?

That is the correct way to trim the motor. One thing,,,you can leave her trimmed and back off the throttle, until she starts to porpoise, At that point trimming down until she rides steady is the way to go.

Also don't only trim by rpm... Trim by speed.... It is possible for rpm to go up and speed go down.... That makes for worse fuel economy.
