I have an OMC 120HP with a rochester 2bbl on it that was just rebuilt.. I also had some of the fuel line replaced and the guy I had do it jonesed on an outboard fuel line, so it's copper line to shut-off valve to fuelline to primer bulb to AC-Delco style fuel pump to carburetor. Now when I try to start it, it instantly floods, and I mean floods. Like if I take the air filter cap off, I can see fuel squirting up as if I would have hit the cover if it were on.. then if I stop turning it over the deluge stops. Is it because I primed the bulb and the fuel is under high pressure? Should I take the bulb out? The guy who put it in said it's good because if my fuel pump ever failed I could prime the bulb and get a couple extra minutes out of it, but it just seems like my fuel system both isn't designed or capable of handling pressure like that from another source. Ideas?
