another sealant question

I realize you guys can't see it over the computer but could somebody take a guess and tell me what is this VERY gummy, non-drying sealant somebody used on my outboard. And more importantly, what cleans it off? Stoddard solvent did not touch it and neither did 2+2 carb cleaner. I don't have a lot of boating experience but this sealant must be something the boating community uses...I've never seen it in the automotive field. Thanks.

Re: another sealant question

It's not Permatex Aviation Formula. It's like thick, gummy wax. I'll get a picture tomorrow.
