Hi again all! Ok....still a newbie and running into things I don't recognize on this old boat! What is this?

I see them on semi trailers, there should be a lid to it to seal it and it forms a drybox for your registration papers.

That is exactly what i was thinking, however looks like the outer part is gone. At this point i would recommend removing it and filling the holes.

That is neat.
As an alternative I get mine laminated at Staples and throw it in the glove box.

Even though they are not expensive I just can't bring myself to buy a new one. I think it is coming off and maybe some other type of small storage receptacle can take it's place. I am shocked at how little room there is to put things! I am thinking seriously about doing a type of deck / storage platform in the front of the boat.

As mentioned before it is a trailer registration holder for SEMI trailers, the plastic cover is missing. Actually it is a good idea in a boat to put your boat registration in.
