Another thumbs up for seafoam!

Ok - here's the story - a friend of mine had his boat in storage for about 2 years.....he stored the boat with a half a tank of gas - IMO the WORST case scenario....full or empty would have been better.

The gas hadn't really gelled or anything so he decided to add fresh gas and let her rip.....well, it started up, and he ran the tank of gas thru it.....it ran rough, but it seemed to be smoothing out as he ran it...SO, once the tank was near empty, he refilled it - this is where the problems started...it started bogging down, stalling, etc. He ran thru that tank of gas and I suggested he throw some seafoam in with his next tank.

Well - I thought I had totally screwed him - he put that stuff in and his engine hated it......it seemed to make it worse. MUCH worse....He couldn't get his RPM's over 4000...

I suggested he run thru that tank of gas fully, and then see how it goes on the next one (seafoam is oil based afterall....not the greatest for performance).....So he did.

I got a call from him tonight - he had me listen to him start up the engine - fired right up cold....idled like new! It was awesome! He said he took it out yesterday, and it ran perfectly......SOOOO Glad it worked out for him - I was feeling very guilty!!!

Yup, its good stuff. I also like Evinrude Engine Tuner.

I tend to run my motor a lot, plus I use pure gasoline (no corn squeezin's) most of the time, so I tend not to have stale fuel problems or carb gumming issues. What I do like to do, is to blow the carbon out of my motor about twice a year. Engine Tuner is great for that both because its an effective product and because its very easy to use. All you have to do, is to shoot the stuff into each carb throat, until you hear the engine start to falter and then move on to the next carb. You do that in rotation, until the can is empty.

Keep the fuel clean and the motor clean, and you're bound to be a happy boater!

Last time i bought seafoam it was 6 bux a can, yesterday the same can costs 12 bux at the same store, I like using it to smoke out the neighborhood, now when you see a car or boat just smoking out like a blown engine you'll know it's just seafoam, especially when the guy is just driving on like nothings happening.

I love the stuff too. I just resurrected a boat that hadn't been run in a few years and it wont get up to the proper rpm range. I dumped a can of sea foam in the tank today and am going to go put 10 gallons in the tank tonight and see what happens on the lake tomorrow morning. I've used it on jetskis, lawn mowers, cars, trucks, you name it, and now boats and like the results.

Mine has a tankful of mix in it now and I plan to run it out and refill this weekend if I can.
