Re: Anti Freeze Question

But if you are worrying about rust, why not buy the stuff with rust inhibitors.

I don't.... ;)
The Volvo in my signature has been drained only for the past 36 years, and it's no worse for the wear. With the hundreds of thousands of gallons of untreated raw rater that passes through (and sits) in a open cooling system, flash rusting from air is an afterthought to me.

"Pink RV Antifreeze"

Choose carefully! There are two kind of "Pink RV Antifreeze";
The color is immaterial and varies among manufacturers. Pink, Blue, Green.

The under $3 stuff is Alcohol/Water or Alcohol/Glycol mix and marketed more for holding tanks and plumbing fixtures.
The rust inhibiting properties are marginal at best due to the alcohol content.

The Over $5 stuff is P-Glycol diluted in various amounts of water.
The Glycol is naturally anaerobic (absorbs Oxygen), No Oxygen, No Rust, Rust Inhibiting!
