Get a small six cylinder. Just kidding, although for the money it would cost you would probably be better off. Some of the more experienced motor people will prob have some answers

What prop do you have on? I had the same problem, looking for a "magic bullet," is a tuff one with the 3.0. I found by stepping down a few pitch #'s to a 18 with 4 blades helped a ton. I hear ss props are a bit better too. Good luck!

P.S. Someone on this site just posted how to drill a small hole on each blade, I've heard great things about this, but I think it's easy to ruin a prop if you don't follow the directions.

What are you looking for, top speed or getting up out of the water faster? You also need to note your top rpm's at wide open throttle. The specs should be on a label on the engine, but I think you should be running 4,500 rpm +/-, but check your label, should be under the oil fill. If yours id like mine, it has a 19 on it, I stepped down 2 sizes and WOW, pops out of the water like a v8, but I have to watch my rpms, if the boats empty, low on gas, and not towing anything I will get up close to 5,000 rpms, to high. Most of the time I have a full tank, 4 people, 200lbs of gear, and towing a tube or skier, then I only hit 4,500 on a good day!

I guess ill have to either sell the boat and buy something with a bigger engine,or just put a bigger engine in the boat.
