Re: Any Seattle Public Transportation Users Out There?

My daughter uses SPT all the time, and is pretty much an expert on it.

Do you have a specific question that I can relay?

Re: Any Seattle Public Transportation Users Out There?

Don't use it now.

When I worked at EF Hutton in down town Seattle in 1987 I would ride the bus from a park n' ride on days when I did not have to go out to see me clients and or planned to go home durring commute hours.

(Vulcun is Paul Allens' vehicle). He owns a lot of the South Lake Union area. Seattle is a whacked city when it come to public projects, (especially transportation).

They don't like cars at all in Seattle so they build barriers in most side streets, (they are doin' it over here in Bellevue now too). When I leased me bidness suite you could turn right into the parking lot from either direction. Now ya have to go 500' East and back track in the parking lot back to me store front. :(

They refuse to widen main highways, and instead focus on Billions of $ fer a worthless 15 mile light rail, that no one will ever ride, (at least enough to lessen the traffic on existing main roads). They are also real big on bike trails here, (I don't mind ridin' me bike, but I don't think tax dollars designated for transportation should go there).

The 'Alaska way viaduct' carries a lot of cars every day and ranks in the low 20s on the same scale that the Minnesota bridge that feel ranked 50. Yet they tore down a perfectly good VERY STRONG King Dome with a brand new $70 Million dollar roof, n' built tow brand new $500 Million stadiums, (one of which Paul Allen corntrolls).

Buses work fairly well here and are the only flexable viable option in a sprawling decentralized city with many natural barriers, IMHO.

Respectfully, JR
