Have a 89 vip with the 2.3 the manual says to use sae 30 oil, but having a heck of a time finding this! Searched few auto places and Walmart. Closest thing I've found was at walmart and was believe sae25w40 or something around those lines. Where can I get this or would the walmart stuff work just as good? Thanks

Most any auto parts should carry 30w oil. Just be sure to get the detergent kind, should be marked something like 30hd.

Home Big Box stores carry 30w oil. Its what all my small motors use (lawn mower, pressure washer, etc)

Marine? No!

FWIW my pos mustang convertible has the same engine as your boat..... It (as well as EVERY I/O boat I've ever owned) gets the cheapest 10-30 oil I can find and it gets changed regularly.....
