You should be removing the drive annualy anyway. Make sure you check gimbal alignment before installing.
Yep, picked up a gimbal alignment tool this summer :)
Besides making sure the alignment is good, greasing the splines and checking the bellows, anything else I should do as far as annual maintenance while the drive is off? (I'll change the gear oil once it's back on the boat).

Thinking I might paint it while it's off as well.

Grease the gimbal bearing(while rotating the bearing by hand), grease the u-joints. Replace the u-joint bellows every 5 years.

Make sure that when you replace the gear oil, you replace all the gaskets/o-rings on the plugs. Make sure you fill properly(from the middle hole).
