Any way to have Constant On with '87 Johnson Bow Mount Electic Trolling Motor?

Hi. On a boat I recently purchased it has a 1987 Johnson Bow Mount Electric Trolling Motor. It's a 12V foot controlled model. It seems that to keep it in motion you need to keep the red button on the foot pedal/controller depressed. Is there any way to set it up with "constant on" so that you can set it and not have to have your foot constantly on the button to keep the trolling motor engaged? Thanks

Either wire in a heavy duty On/Off switch across the red button switch terminals or rig something to hold the red button down.

Thanks Joe...was kind of thinking perhaps a big rubber band would do it as it could span the pedal and hold the button down. The switch idea is a good one too.
