Re: Anybody know of a good, free, automatic driver updating program?
Actually Windows 7 Will search the net for the latest drivers if you want it to..which is the reason I asked, it has a feature that will check the manufactures websites for the latest software available.
That's why it matters..
Now if your looking for stand alone programs, many of the freebies we were used to will not work in the windows 7 or the 64 bit environment..but I am sure you knew that...
And as things progress, your going to find less and less freebie utilities available, at the best you will be able to get shareware versions, which will either be limited in the length of time they work, or limited in what they will do..
Most of the good driver update suites have been bought or acquired by other companies and incorporated into their software suites..or many of the programmers that wrote free stuff on their own have been hired and are now not working for free.
But here is a link to one I have used in the past, it might fit the bill for you.
