Anybody using a large Happy Troller?

Bought one off of ebay last week, and it arrived today. For some reason it looks small to me. I have an 85hp Force that I am going to bolt this to... so I wanted the larger version (50hp+).

I measure 14" from the very top of the plate down to the bottom of the plate, and about 12" across.

Does anyone know if this is the large or the small plate?

Thanks..

Another question... where / how is the best way to secure the trolling plate release cord ? Attach it to the motor somehow?

looks like the large one too me....id have to measure my old one later to be sure...
anywhere you can tie off and reach it without going over is good.... just leave enough slack to work it but not enough to get caught anywhere...

I have not owned a happy troller, but 14x14 rings a bell re: size. Regardless, I think you will find that it slows you down a lot.

almost forgot......just remember to lock it up before you give it too much gas!!! theres no shear pins or anything on those.... you will either shear the tabs off or bend the plate. dont ask how i know :/

Thanks..

I bought this one used. If you look at the picture, you can see that it has been bent by a previous owner.

My plan is to put a golf club cover over my throttle when the trolling plate is down (or when I am dragging a bucket) as a reminder that I have stuff in the water.
