I just sold my boat on craigslist. I did get one of those offers where they want to send me a check for more and have them refund the difference (scam), but I also got several inquiries from legit buyers. I made sure to give as many details about the boat, both bad and good, as possible including photos.
I quickly sold the boat for my asking price to a fine gentleman who lived about two hours away from me.
We met in the middle, tested out the boat together and I gave him a full tour. He paid me in cash and towed the boat home. I can't speak for him, but I felt good about the whole thing and was happy to see the boat go to someone who was excited to have it.
