Re: Anyone Own a Wooldridge Sport 2000 or Sportstour?
If it helps, I run a 16'6" Wooldridge Extra Plus with a 115/80 Mariner. The best I get is 39 MPH and roughly 3 MPG. On plane I can run in 4 inches of water.

You would probably want at least a 150/105 HP but you can put up to a 200 HP on your boat. Your speed will be greater than mine but fuel economy should be about the same although if you get a 4 stroke it might get a little better MPG.

Getting a stainless steel impeller (with four fins as opposed to the aluminum 3 fin) will give you better hole shots.

I never run salt so I can't help you there.

A Wooldridge is a great boat and extremely durable.
