I'm not mad at anyone for trying to learn about boating or fishing, but a lot more people will see your post and answer your question of you make your own thread. :) As for side imaging, I need to figure this other stuff out and get in the water first, lol

With the motor that low...you are losing a lot of speed and fuel efficiency. Your steering will feel a bit heavy too because the leg is dragging in the water.

It may also be causing turbulence that could affect your side imaging unit.

I have Side imaging. (HB798si)
You will need to learn to interpret the Images. They do NOT look like there is a Camera down there.
The biggest advantage is that you are scanning a path up to a few hundred feet wide at a time.
With down imaging, unless you go within a few feet of directly over the object, you will never know it is there.
I use mine mostly for locating wrecks to dive on. The charts have been off by hundreds of yards.

Your transducer is about 5 inches wide and the engine gap is about the same. It might work OK or Not! ???
You can see through a Key hole from across a room, but the view is a lot better the closer you get.
Placing the transducer nearer the keel and the motor would increase the view and guarantee you have a view UNDER the Keel.
Say outside of the Engines AV Plate to avoid disturbing the water heading for the Prop.
Pick a location that is Not in in line with a row of rivets.

But before changing anything, TRY IT!

I think it was in the way. Thinking about the mini-Jacker plate to raise the motor. In side imaging, there was a line on the right side at the top of the image, which I'm guessing was my motor. Debating on the mini-jacker, or just using wood to raise it.

Post a pic of mounting brackets and transom. These guys will come up with the best solution. Helping does the soul good.
